If you ever needed a simple explanation of synchronicity and how it works this is a great video to watch. Dr Wayne Dyer puts it into simple language and relates it to something as simple as ice cream. Excellent!

I guess it really comes as no surprise to anyone who practices yoga that it helps boost brain power. As someone who has competed in the world memory championships achieving 8th in the world in 1997 and who has been studying and practicing yoga for a number of years it has certainly helped me and those I teach with learning quicker and easier and most importantly with their ability to concentrate and focus, not to mention any of the physical benefits.
So heres a very interesting video clip about a Superbrain Yoga which I came across. Well worth a watch and watch it all to hear why it works. If what they’re saying is true it can offer a drug free treatment to kids with ADHD and other related challenges which is fantastic. Given how simple it is, it is certainly worth a try to explore for yourself. Watch the video and have a go now to re-energise your brain!
If you’d like to experience Dru Yoga, I’m now facilitating a drop in class on Tuesday evenings in Milltown Park Dublin – 7.30-9pm. Cost per class just Euro 15. Click here for details
The year was 1847 and a young baby boy, the youngest of seven, was born in Ohio. He was a rather sickly child when he was young and only three of his siblings survived until adulthood. He had very little formal education leaving school at the age of 9 (although I heard one story that he was kicked out because he was stupid!). His Mother Nancy took it upon herself to educate him. In fact in later years this boy who became, argubly the worlds best inventor said of his Mother:
“My mother was the making of me. She was so true, so sure of me, and I felt I had some one to live for, some one I must not disappoint.”
Now imagine if his Mother, Nancy, thought, “I think my child has some “disorder”! He will never amount to much! I may as well write him off and get on with the chores around the house and other more important things I have to do. In fact I’ll send him off to be looked after by someone else while I move myself up the career ladder!” Or worse still imagine if Nancy had been ill-advised put him on some “brain dead” medication! We would live in a different world today if that had been the case.
You see the decision by Nancy to nourish the genius within her child has without doubt greatly increased the quality of life of the whole world. Every time you walk into a room and turn on a light you are benefitting from her belief in her child. Every time you go to a movie you’re benefitting from her belief in her child. Every time to listen to a record you’re benefitting from her belief in her child.
It’s no accident that children come into our lives and we as adults/parents/teachers have a duty and big responsibility to nourish them as best we can and more! For the next generation will stand on our shoulders provided we have given them loving and intelligent shoulders to stand on!
What did Nancy Edison see in her child? She saw a genius with infinite potential. Is it in every child? Absolutely! It’s in every human being period! It’s not just in some, it’s in everyone! When we start to believe this, we start to act on it and we treat our children as the genius that they truly are. And together with our absolutle unconditional love, this is the greatest of gifts we can give our children.
Nancy’s son of course was Thomas Edison. To this day he has the greatest number of patents for any human being in history – 1,093 and:
“to seek his monument turn on the light!”
Make sure you treat your child as the genius that they are, it is your most important duty! As someone once said:
“Treat a child as they are and they will remain as they are, treat them as they can and should be and they will become as they can and should be”

With all our technology and knowledge our generation sometimes believe we’re at the end of evolution and we know all there is to know. For example, people have long thought brain cells died with age and we certainly never get new ones! So we’d all believe and thus behave in a way that our brain deteroriates with age then ironically because of the power of our brain this negative outcome was sometimes realised! Yet scientists recently proved that we do indeed generate new brain cells throughout our lives and that limited belief was wrong - see Scientific American and let your genius soar!
Its most especially important that if we have limited beliefs and knowledge about our brain and its capabilities that we don’t pass these limits on to our children. So investing some time learning about this frontier in human wisdom will greatly benefit your children. On giving a workshop on Creativity and the Mind to a group of business students in an Irish College recently I was asked by one of them – would what I was teaching work with children? “Absolutely!”, I said and offered her some advice. She told me she had a child who was being a bit challenged in school. The danger here is that she loses faith in her childs natural genius ability and begins to treat her child as less than it really is. I remember coming across a quote one time which said:
“Treat a child as they are and they will remain as they are, treat them as they can and should be and they will become as they can and should be”
So we MUST always treat our children as we would like them to be or better still help them stay aligned with what they truly are – total genius, totally unique and that there’s a great purpose to their lives!
In light of this ladys question I’m facilitating a workshop on “How to help Your Child Learn” on 12th March in Stillorgan Park hotel, Dublin at 7.15pm which will offer practical advice and tips on helping your child learn. It’s aimed at parents, teachers or anyone who helps children. Indeed it will benefit anyone who would like to know how to use more of your brains infinite potential. For more details and to register click here – its only Euro 33 for the first ten people to register (some of these places are already taken).
So what’s the most important choice we make regarding our brain and its use – do we choose to be continously open to explore new unlimited ideas or be closed in old limiting ones. The following short video (1min 23 secs) captures some of the miraculous magic that is happening in your brain right now as you read this – Enjoy!
