I came across a great story in the www.inkwellwriters.ie newsletter about a lady called Hazel Gaynor who blogged her way to success since been laid off from her job last February. Here’s a short version of her story.Â
Â
Hazel Gaynor’s story
Last February Hazel Gaynor was laid off from her job and attended a internet workshop. It was perfect timing for her and she has always loved writing. She says the best bit of advice she got from the workshop which was delivered by a lady called Beth Morrissey was to start a blog and get connected.
So she started her own blog www.hotcrossmum.blogspot.com straight away writing about her new life as a home mum. After writing articles on her blog it started to get noticed and she was invited to write for other blogs and indeed now writes for the Hello magazine blog.
Â
Following on from that she has been listed on the Top 100 UK Parenting Bloggers index, writes for the Leinster Leader, the Irish Examiner and has been brought over to London by a PR agency for a product launch.
Â
Has Hazel got half a million followers on her blog and in twitter? No! In fact I was surprised she has achieved all this with 62 blog followers, 176 twitter followers!
Â
On top of all this Hazel’s new found confidence has soared and she’s now 20,000+ words into her first novel!
