Irish Inner Peace Pilgrimage Day 5 – Seize the Day!

What drew me to St Francis’s church in Newcastle, Co. Wicklow, Ireland today? It was the above quote. I read it on a headstone there a number of years ago. But today, together with three of my kids, we couldn’t find it! However graveyards with or without quotes are great reminders to us to be “awake” to this life.

While we were there my kids were asking me about where we go when we die and what’s in the graves now? Well my own understanding is that we are a Spirit occupying a body while we are here. Once the body is used up it’s time to go. For some this time is long and for some it’s short. But what really matters is what we do with the time that has been given to us.

A great question to ask yourself each night as you lay to rest is this – is the world a better place because I have lived?
