What a beautiful poem and so appropriate for the season. Your poem reminds me of a poem I wrote a few year back that is very similar... THE CRYING MAN A couple years ago, I met a man on the street. He was sitting against a building with his knees to his chest and his coat wrapped around his legs. He had no socks on. He looked miserable. It was cold, about 40 degrees. An employee came out of the store and told him to leave the premises. When the man started to cry, I kneeled in front of him and touched his knee. I asked why he was crying, but could not understand his answer. I asked what he wanted and barely made out the word, hungry. I gave him $10. He continued to cry, while he hugged me for a long time. I cried, too. He said he had been in jail for stealing. He told me that jail was bad and never to steal. I thanked him and blessed him. He hugged me again, for an even longer time. And then, with huge tears streaming down his face, the man walked away. The crying man opened my heart. I will always think of him with kindness and affection. Thank you Sean.
